I had an 04 350 rancher given to me. I put a new piston and rings and bored it .010 Tonight i put the motor back together, with new oil and filter. it fired right up but I noticed the fan was not working and I could not shift gears. I can shift the emergency shifter with a 12mm and it works. drove it around in 1st, it did drive good. so far i only have $80 in this bike. any suggestions on my fan or shifting. thank you

 

The fan will only come on when the bike is very hot .. We have customers that the fan only comes on a couple of times a year ..

As far as the ESP not working the gear position indicator should be flashing a code and you have to count the flashes ...

I cheched the gear position flash. it flashed 5 times, which tells me its the ECU Driver Motor Circuit. Where would I find this and are there any recomendations on how to fix this?

I have figured out that I am a complete idiot. After looking all over this ATV i figured out that the shift motor is missing off of it. I can get one off of an early model rubicon, will it work or is it different from the rancher?

 

ok i have a 2000 honda trx 350 as whell and i have never seen the fan
come on so i replaced the thermister and it never mad a difrance. i am asuming the fan almost never comes on. i am scared that i might be runing it to hot is thair a coller temp thermastat u can buy?thanks for your time and help ps if i short the blue wire going to the thermster to ground the fan will come on.
