hey new in the honda forum, i just bought a 2000 400ex with a 440 bore kit rev box etc etc, just wondering from anyone out there who has done this before what there thoughts are on the 440 ex and how they work for them and what kind of other bikes they have beat, thanks alot

 

Welcome to the forum....seems like you have a great ride, so enjoy it!

Beating other bikes is a subjective issue....most of the time a superior rider on a slightly inferior bike can beat an inferior rider on a slightly superior bike. And don't forget that your 440 will accelerate a lot faster with a 140 pound rider than it will with a 250 pound rider...the bike is the same, the rider makes the difference.

You're probably not going to be smoking anything in the 450 racer class, so just enjoy roosting your friends, getting saddle time, and having a good ride. Tread lightly, pack out what you pack in, keep your exhaust reasonably quiet, and always wear a helmet....remember that your momma didn't raise a fool

oh...make sure you have a good oil cooler for your ex...that's all they use to keep from melting down
