If the engine starts good and idles good I would say that your clucth needs looked at.

The Honda Recon has an ajustment in the front of the case. you can find a large nut with a sloted inner adjusting screw in it. First insert a large straght slot into the middle and while holding it still, take a wrench and loose the large nut. Now with the nut loose turn the slotted screw in until your feel it snug. Now turn the screw back out 1/4 turn and hold it steady while you re-tighten the nut.

so where do i start lol i want to do this i am pretty mechaniclly inclined just need to know where to start

Friend, I would love to stick around but I just pulled a 12 hr graveyard shift and i'm tired. Hopefully i was able to help you out and maybe someone else will respond and help even more.

ok well thanks for the help i went out and looked i cant find that big nut with the screw in it
