I just ordered my 400ex (kind of funny 4 yellow and no reds), it will be in Fri. No insurance company will even talk to me once I mention the word ATV. I just want theft and fire on it. Anyone in a club in Massachusetts, New England area that might have any info I would greatly appreciate it. Please post any numbers or info. Thanks

Try Universal Underwriters Insurance Company at
1 800 238 2446. They are in Overland Park,Kansas.
This is the insurance offered through my local dealer.

I checked with some of the larger companies like State Farm, Progressive, etc. No one could beat their rates.

Good luck with the quest for insurance.

I may try them, I have Progresive now 950$ for 2500 PIP, theft liability, comp, and collision. Liability was 56$, pip was 400$, comp 256, collision 250.

400ex'r
I think they are ripping your lips off!!!! Of course age and model may be a major factor. I'm 29 and insuring two Honda Foreman 400 and also have 16 years of riding experience. I actually had Progressive for a year with $25,000 PIP, comprehensive, and collision with $500 deductible on each I paid $360. They following year I received a statement for $331. I then switched to Universal Underwriters with the same coverage except for collison, comprehensive, fire, and theft for a $250 deductible. The first year with them I paid $308, this year's statement was for $114. A substantial savings for a renewal with them.

I remember seeing a thread not too long ago about the banner for ATV insurance on this web site's main page. If I remember correctly the author of the thread said they gave him really good quotes.

Well, good luck to all those searching for cheap insurance.

You can get a personal quote right from the Progressive.com website.

American Family gave me coverage for 1 ATV at $168.00 There are some better and some bad rates out there. Unlike car insurance, you don't need it to drive off the lot. Just get the basic's like theft and injury because if you go running to them with a claim each time you come off the trail with scratches and dents they will nickel and dime you to the poor house.

Good Luck
