When I pulled my Durablue Eliminator axle out and there is this sleeve on the axle which I guess rides in the carrier. First I do not see that on any pictures of durablue axles or can figure what good it is. Second I can't firure how to get it off. Do I need this? If so wouldn't it need to set inside the carrier when I slide thh axle back in? I am sorry, but I am a rookie at working on ATV's and am learning as I go. Any help would be appreciated..

 

Bump.. I just tried to oil that "sleeve" up and slide it off with no luck. Please tell me if this is needed as I am about to cut it off.
