250 honda 2x4 clutch

Default 250 honda 2x4 clutch

i thought i could take on the job at removing my clutch and i got the main nut off from inside the clutch but in order for that to slide off the other round lookin thing beside it has to come off too how in the H*** does that come off i took off a little cover that had 3 small bolts holding it on once that was removed it revaled a nut on a shaft but i cant seem to get that loose because all the thing does is turn and turn i cant seem to get it to stay in 1 place so i can remove the nut will some one please help me out i would really appreciate it

Get a piece of aluminum and jam it between the gears on the right of the clutch basket. This will hold the thing from turning. But the nut is VERY tight. 85 ft. lbs. And when you put it back on, put the aluminum on the other side of those gears and make SURE you use a torque wrench and get it to 85 ft. lbs.,

lol no way can i get that loose is it a backwards nut like do i have to like tighten it rather then loosen it cause i jumped on that ratchet and no way and im like 175lbs lol

No, it's not left handed thread. Did you bend the washer behind the nut so it's flat? If you need that much oomph then there's something else wrong. You didn't say which 250 it is. EX? X? Recon?

i didnt see a washer behind the nut... i dont have the papers for the bike i recently bought it and i found 1 sticker on the frame and whats left of it it says TRX250Y year i dont even know buddy said it was an 01 but judging the shape i dont think its an 01 more like a 87 lol

That Y is probably an X. Does it look kind of like this?

nope mine doesnt look nothin like that it doesnt look sporty at all and it is definately a Y

Ok then you better not listen to me. I've been assuming it is an X. Don't know anything about the Y. Do you have a manual?
