Cheap bash plate/front frame protection...
#1
Recently I got tired of the factory bash plate needing pounded back out, and I noticed the area under the front dif was getting smacked up pretty well.
The rest of the frame seemed fine, and I didn't want to drop major change for a predone skid plate.
Anyway, I bought a chunk of 3/16" aluminum and bent it with a shop press, then used 1/4" carriage bolts, nylock nuts and fender washers (stainless steel) and a couple of 1 1/2" conduit brackets to secure it. Bolted to the factory bash plate in the front, and bolted to the conduit brackets over the frame tube on the back. 10"x24" plate fits well on the Rincon.
For around $30 I think I ended up with decent looking protection, so I thought I'd post in case someone else wanted to make something similar.

AWESOME!!
Great job, 2 thumbs up.
Now go bash something.
Did you know that Honda engineers actually developed a new aluminum alloy so they could attach steel tips for the rockers and lifter??
They did this to help maitain the 600 lb weight limit for the original Rincon.
