OK this is the second time I have posted this question my bud's 400ex 2001 front right side wheel look's bent in like it's way out wack. He has never hit anything with it and takes great care of it. The dealer said that all 2001 ex's have this problem I was wondering if anyone know's how to fix it? The dealer has put a new ball joint on it and the problem is stii there. He say's when he ride's on flat surface's (paved roads or dirt roads) it is almost uncontrollable. He say's it fish tail really bad. Please respond if you know how to fix this problem b4 he sell's his bike. Thank you.

Before he trades it in, you need to do some investigation. Check to see if you have a bent spindle, tie rod, steering shaft twisted, or ?. It might just be that you need to align the front end. Do some checking and you will find out that one of these is messed up. Best of luck.

The first thing to check, Lift the front end up and spin the tires and see what happens.
Second lets the toe in and out. Sit on the quad and straigh the bars to center. Without moving them get off and go stand in frond of the quad(about 10 to 15 ft) and see if the front tires line up with the rear tire. This will tell you if the wheels are toed in or out. Make sure that the bars are straigh at all times.
Also, measure the toe in. Pick a stop on the front of each tire at about 3 o'clock and the measure at the same spot on the back of the front tire at 9 o'clock. The front number should be the same to 1/2in smaller than the rear measurement. Do both of these and post the results or e-mail them to me and we will go from there.
