98' Honda 90 Fourtrax carb issue
I have this Fourtrax and there's a problem with the carb. I got it for nearly free and the original owner said there's a flap in the carb that's cracked, and it allows too much fuel into the carb which floods the motor. It also gets stuck too when its open, thus gas flooding the motor again. So I asked around and was told before I took apart my carb that its the float set thats messed up. So I look at pics of the float set on the internet, then take apart the carb and find it but the float seems good to me? No cracks, doesn't seem out of place. I don't know what I'm looking for now, that's why I'm taking a break to post this thread and do more research before I go any further. Here's some pics of the carb just to give you a standing point on where I'm at -

You could check the float by submerging it in a container of gasoline with a pair of pliers maybe. You should be able to see air bubbles escape from a crack if it's split.
Also, if you haven't removed the float already, remove it and shake it to see if there is fuel inside the float.
If the float is not split or cracked, the carb may just need a good, thorough cleaning. Get a kit and then take the carb apart and let it soak in some good, commercial carb cleaner.
