Default 07 Rancher 420 es Start in Gear problem

Hi guys, a couple days ago my 420 decided not to let the engine rev up if I start it in gear. It acts like the rev limiter is kicking in and will stall the motor if I give it any gas. If I shift back down to neutral the problem goes away until the next time I start it in gear. Any Ideas? Besides starting it in neutral. I have 2500 miles on it, original owner.

prehaps this is normal, to make sure that when its started in gear, should the throttle be hung, it wont take off

Smile Figured it out

Over time my front brake lever and spring have wore, and they no longer return to neutral position. This tells the quad that I have not released the brake, and will not let the motor rev. A simple fix. Adjust brake lever.

good job. i forgot all about that. on hondas as the brakeshoes wear, the brake lever goes down farther. if i was you i'd check my brakeshoes also to insure they are not into the metal.
