Default 1999 Foreman S

Hey all,
I just sold my 2004 rancher AT and am considering buying a 1999 Foreman S. Its in really nice shape with only 75 hours and 140 miles, what would you say it is worth? I like the idea of the auto shift trans, I wasn't a big fan of the Hondamatic.

If it look like new and has been took care of I would pay up to $3000 for it. The S model 450 Foremans are about bulletproof. I have a 2003 and 2004 450ES which have been great atv's. I love the low gears of the foremans. These machines are getting hard to find in great shape! I have a 2005 and 2008 honda rincons which I love also. They ride/Handle Great and seem very quick after riding foremans for years. What I don't like about the rincon's is they have no engine braking.

Asking price right now is $2000, aside of one good scrape on the RH side of the plastic it is like new. Anything I need to look out for on these? If I pick it up I will change all the oils to start off fresh.

As far as I know the 450 S foreman's didn't have any common problems. Now that model is all time 4x4 i think it wasn't until 2003 that they came with the lock in/out switch. Test ride it and see how it does. $200 sounds like a good deal to me if it is in the kind of shape you say it is. Yeah if it was me I would change all the fluids just so you know for sure when it was changed. I just bought a near new 2005 Rincon that had 27hrs and 178 miles on it and when I went to change the fluids the front and rear diffs had red fluid in them which it didn't come from the factory like that so now I know that all the fluids are correct!

$2000 sounds like a good deal. if everything checks out after an inspection and test ride, i'd say go for it. good luck!

I love your used prices in the States! I sold my 2001 450es in 2006 with 1,500miles on it for $5000, I sold my 89 350 Big Bear with a zillion miles on it for $1600.

I bought my 2001 SP500 in 2006 with 1,200 miles for $5400. My friend bought a new 2006 500 Foreman ES for $8000.

We sure get ripped off up here in Canada.
