2002 honda rubicon transmission problems
#13
has anyone given any thought to the sub transmission, i know people sometimes pop them into gear with the rev's up and that can cause the sub tranny parts to fail. My ruibicon is flat out bullet proof with zero problems

Clip,
A variety of things can cause that problem. It could be the sub-transmission isn't shifting properly, or there is no oil pressure (ie drive chain broke). Don't run the engine until you confirm there is oil pressure.
Does it throw any codes?

i have the same problem. i can put it in drive or reverse and with the engine not running it will move like it is in neutral. when running it acts like it is going to move but will not.
if the oil pump chain is off will it cause this problem? i have no flashing of D1 D2 ESP
Thanks

If the oil pump chain is off, I would expect it would not attempt to move at all, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to check.
Does it make any noises when it acts like it is trying to move?
Anything done to the machine recently?
