The engine cranks and runs fine but when i use the shift lever to put it in gear every gear just revs up like its in neutral. any thoughts on what my problem could be.and whats it worth if its the hondamatic without any repair? thanks

either your hondamatic unit is screwed or your ECU. we had this prob with a buddys 02 rubicon and took the hondamatic unit apart, and turned out to be a busted bearing, unfortunately honda wouldnt sell just the bearing, they wanted to sell a whole new unit.

The downside is that it's serviceable? Did you mean to say they stated "un-serviceable"? Most everything I have read says you can't rebuild it.

Now, having said that, the Hondmatic was built so it can be disassembled only Honda wants to sell a new one...not parts.

Sorry it said un serviceable, They were not taking about the Rubicon only, may not apply to the other Honda full autos like the 400AT,Rincon and new 420AT.

I don,t know nothing about the workings of the Rubicons tranny, its just what Dirt Wheels printed, but it would not be the first time they were wrong.
