Default 2007 foreman maintenance

I need to do some fluid changes on my foreman. Just wondering what needs to be done. From what I googled, 3 quarts of 10/40 oil should do the job, and it should be ATV/motorcycle oil.

Is there a tranny oil or is that part of the engine oil?

This is NOT an electronic shift if it matters

Anything else that needs attention?

on non liquid cooled engines, you should change brake fluid, "so they claim", also rearend/differential fluid, just use 80W90 gear oil, and then 3 quarts of ? whatever oil you perfer, but make sure its for motorcycle wet clutches. your differential fluid should also never look gray, always a nice brownish semi-clear color.

is there a recommended weight for the engine oil?

Is there a separate oil for the transmission?

always check your owners manuel, but most atvs use 10w40, or 10w30 in colder climates. the tranny oil is the same as the engine oil. when you fill the engine up with oil, it fills the tranny up too, they use the same oil

10W-40 is fine. Make sure it is rated MA, as the engine and transmission do run in the same oil. I'd recommend Honda filter. Make sure you follow the directions on the filter. If you put it in backwards it will block all oil flow (with predictable results).

Use a torque wrench on the drain bolt. If it strips, you can have a major problem.

Axles should be done every two years. More frequently if you submerge. 80w or 75-90 rated GL-5 would be fine. One has a big cap on the side, and drain plug on the bottom. The other has a big cap on top, a small fill level plug on the side, and drain plug on the bottom.

Valves should also be adjusted, brake fluid every two years, check the brake pad thickness and rear cable adjustment. There is also an adjustment on the change clutch on the front of the engine.

Of course, clean and properly reoil the air filter, and there is also a crankcase filter in there.

If you don't have a factory service manual, I would highly recommend getting one.
