Default Honda Rancher

I just bought a Honda Rancher 350 2003 with push button shifting. I am having trouble getting it to go into reverse all of the time. Sometimes it will go right into reverse and other times nothing happens. The other gears work fine with no problems. I tried to adjust the cable but nothing changed. Any suggestions?

If you have to rock it back and forth a little to get it to go into reverse......this is somewhat normal.

Other wise try a simiple clutch adjustment and see if that helps.

search the honda forum for more details, I had the same problem & found the solution with pics. You need to check the to make sure the plug has not come loose. It is located in the back on the bottom near where the cable ends.
