Question 2000 honda recon

i have a old 2000 honda recon and i was wondering if the lights should work well it runs because i have to hold mine at a high idle for the lights to come on then when i let go they shut off and does anybody know anygood part sites for the 2000 honda recon

I have a 99 and I don't think it works that way but I will check the next chance I get. Seems to me the lights are bright no matter how high or low the idle is. It may be that the battery is shot. You need a good battery for the lights to work like mine.

My recons lights will work even if the engine is not running. If it IS running, the lights stay the same brightness no matter what RPM I am running. I suspect you either don't have a battery in it, in which case it will run but the lights will have to work directly off the alternator and will act like you describe, or that your battery is very weak.

it does have a battery and it only has enough juice to start it and do you know
