Default Rancher 400 AT won't crank

I was working on my carb yesterday and after a number of starts the battery went dead. Reharged the battery and now it won't crank when I hit the start button. There isn't even a click from the solenoid. I can jump across the solenoid and get it to crank.

Key switch is on, and display shows ATV is in neutral. Kill switch hasn't been moved and is in the run position.

Suggestions?

Bad solenoid. Pulled the solenoid off my Rubicon and tried the Rancher solenoid in the Rubicon and the Rubicon in the Rancher. Rancher now cranks, and the Rubicon is lacking a solenoid. Luckily my BIL says he has a couple of them off salvage machines and I can have one of them, so it will be a cheap repair.
