Question 2001 honda foreman 450 HMF problems!

Hey guys my cousin has a 2001 Honda foreman 450es with around 800 miles on it. When he had the stock exhaust and stock everything in the carb it ran perfect. He put on a HMF exhaust and ever since it does not run right. From what he told me he has tried a couple different jets( all higher), tried playing with the needle position and has tried playing with the A/F screw, all with the same results. The quad idles fine and goes threw usually 1st 2nd and 3rd gears fine but 4th and 5th from like mid to wot just bogs and seems like it wants to shut off. do you guys have any suggestions for him on which main jet to use/ pilot jet/ what to set the A/F fuel screw to. we are only about 1000ft above sea level where we live and ride. he took it to a Honda dealer and they put everything back at stock so they say and it runs basically just the same. he also has a stock air filter. please help and let me know so we can go riding again someday!!!

It only cuts out at high throttle in higher gears?

I'd be wondering if you have something restricting fuel getting to the carb, like maybe the screen on the petcock.

As far as jetting, I'd have no idea. One of the dynojet kits might be worth investing in. If you follow their suggestions for your setup (stock filter, free flowing exhaust) the results are often spot-on, or at least close.

I don't know if they have anything like that posted. You could look, but you might have to buy one of their kits. (Unless someone with experience with your particular combo chimes in).
