1987 Foreman - Stuck in Reverse - Reverse Light

1987 Foreman - Stuck in Reverse - Reverse Light
1987 Honda Foreman 350D
Just got her running and went to check and see if transmission worked-
Originally neutral light was working properly started fine - but when I tried to put in gear (up on jack stands) now tires moved forward BUT REVERSE light is on and it’s not in reverse.
Tried moving shift lever up or down and will not move from the gear it is in.
The reverse light is on with key on and will not turn over like this.
How do I get her out of what it thinks is reverse?
Remember the tires will turn forward by hand.
I just got this bike and got her running now want to check the shifting before I finish trying to restore her.
Is there an easy solution to this?
