help atv leaking gas

Default help atv leaking gas

2006 honda rancher 400 at pouring gas from mane bottom of carb no tubes just a steel nipple on bottom of carb

Sounds like the gas drain is open. There's a small screw on the side near that nipple. Make sure it is screwed in. There should be a tube attached to that nipple that runs downward and doesn't attach to anything at the bottom. The screw drains the carb of bad gas. You're supposed to put a can or something under the end of the tube.

Could be the float is stuck. Tap it with a screwdriver end to see if it stops. If it does prob time for a carb cleaning.

Yeah, what he said. And if that dosen't stop it you probably have trash in the needle valve.

Yeah, that's the float bowl overflow. Likely the seat and needle have gunk in them.

Also make sure the gas tank vent is not obstructed.

Another possible cause is the diaphragm of the primer **** (I think it is so equipped). If there are cracks there, fuel will flow into the intake and float bowl and overflow the carb.
