pull starting a 680 Rincon
#1
Ok, had a Foreman for 10 years, the thing is bullet proof. Best 4 Wheeler ever had. I bought an 07 Rincon couple years ago...decided to go newer, etc. My 2 year old was playing on it and turned the key on and battery went dead. before charging battery I attempted to pull start it. I bet i pulled a hundred times on the thing and eventually broke the rope about a foot down from the handle! maybe on two attempts out of 100 it just barely fired..very subtle and never ran. I charged the battery and it started right up. my question is this...it's an 07, I don't think it has a decompression switch...i heard some do. I called in and they said the 07 didn't have it. It runs perfect. my question is are these things really just that hard to pull start? I couldn't believe it...and yes, all switches were on run. maybe there is something i wasn't doing right..
thanks in advance and any insight greatly appreciated!

The last time I was at a dealer I was looking a used 09' Rincon and that was one of the things I was curious about so I pull started it at least 5-6 times with no problem it wasn't as easy as pull starting my old 110 or 250ES three wheelers but it was no problem. So I am curious if the dead battery wasn't allowing the fuel injection system to work? I'm sure someone will know.

Nope it pulls over like a PIG.. I've done it once just to see if I could do it.. I did it but i had to figure out right where to have the piston and how much rope I needed out to pull it fast enough. I dunno don't let the battery die LOL

I think you need 10.5 volts or so to run the EFI, so it can be pull started with one failed cell in the battery or with the battery pretty well discharged, but not if it is flat dead.
There is an automatic decompression system on the Rincon, but it still takes a stout pull.
