Honda 400EX
#12
I'm from San Diego CA, and I have been riding the dunes of Superstition, Pizmo, Glamis, and Ocatiilo Wells. My TRX will go anywhere, and do anything 450's and Raptors will do in the desert. TRX's have tons of aftermarket parts to make them really fast and fun. I have taken it through the wooded trails at Corral Canyone OHV, and Pine Valley OHV, and it again impressed me. Side note, and what i really wanted to touch on-- it is bullet proof i have seen guys roll their 400's down Sand Dam at superstition, and Widow Maker with maybe just a bend in the bars (stock bars).. 400ex's are also one of the easiest to maintain sport quads on the market. The 09 450's and 400's are still on the show room floors, and the sticker prices keep dropping.. Get one and get it fast. I fully recommend the 400ex for trail rides, and for dunes. I have ridden Z400's, and they are fast too; in an expose in Dirt Wheels they went head to head with the raptor in every category and was the same if not better than the 700 in every aspect except top speed however, the z400 is a little pricy because of the EFI. As far as the raptor (break Neck), but when are you going to need to do 75-80 on the trails anyways. For the buck the 400ex or 400x is where it's at.. Ride hard, and then ride it harder!!!
