Default 300ex having starting problems...NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH?? WIRING??

I recently bought a older mid nineties 300ex. runs great but won't start or do anything with electric start. always have to jump solenoid. first i thought it was solenoid so i replaced it with new one. thats not it. the lights or nuetral light doesnt even come on and doesn't mke any sound when trying to start by button. i traced back to check the fuse and fuse is good then noticed one of the 2 wires coming from the fuse is cut and not hooked to anything....so would this have anything to do with it nt starting or nuetral light comin on when not running??? and if so, where does the wire need to be hooked to when i get another one spliced to it..

any help would be great. i'm totally lost..... thanks

If both red then that is main power source to solenold and harness[main fuse] can you see both ends? do you have power on both sides of main fuse? I would start there first I think you will see the fuse holder is dead on both sides.

I wish I knew how to attach pics. The one side that is towards battery side the wire is stripped about an inch out of the bottom of fuse holder so it's not connected to anything

Run an jumper from batt to the red wire going out an see that works for you, just be on stand by in case they are an reason for the cut wire to be cut [ incase of smoke]. and see if everything works. if does then wire in an inline holder fuse between batt. and that part of harness. If dont work thennnnnn start from ign.switch and trace back to batt for melted or broke wire. Im not at shop today so my manuals are not here with me.. If you still having problems I will be back at shop on monday and I will check manual and look at wiring.. Keep me in touch, I will need the year for sure..Good Luck..

Ok I'll try a jumper from the red wire that is broke from under the fuse to the positive side on the battery right? And see if it works. I shooing have to do another fuse since that's already still there as long as I get the broke side hooked up to the battery right? Thanks again or all the help
