I know some people run tenders year round, but I am assuming you only run your chargers during the winter since you talked about the temps. In 0 to -10 temps, how many of these toys do you actually use during the winter? What about just taking the batteries out of the unused toys for the couple months and put them and chargers on the work bench. Might save you tripping and save some money. I know I would rather spend an hour or two taking batters out and save a couple hundred bucks. If you do go with the 2 4 bank tenders, I would suggest a new SxS for the last bank...tell the wife she can ride along...after one trip of you driving wildly she will want to sit out and you can put the cooler in the passenger seat!

I want to say that there is a difference between a charger and a maintainer. A charger is removed once the battery is fully charged or else you'll eventually cook the battery. A maintainer has different circuitry to avoid cooking the battery but depending on how dead the battery is, it may not have enough amps to clean the plates inside, therefore the battery never charges.

Thanks to all who posted

I started this thread

I never expected this many responses

I appreciate all the opinions and really love the the funny suggestions -
some of which I will consider !!!

It is great we ( I am 65 years old for what's worth ) can come together
as an online community.
I ride with a bunch of great guys in upstate NY and I know you guys do
the same in your local communities

There are some great guys on here from all over the country and Canada

It's painful to me I ( and most of you guys & ladies ) cant't get together
and ride together.

Insane thought thought to follow :

I travel a lot - maybe a ATV Connection get together for some of us -
maybe in central US - Chicago - Indy - Fla - who knows ??

no 4X4 - just people

If I am nuts - just tell me to shut up !!

Final note - Cold out tonight - gonna go trip over the lead cords

You guys are the best !!!

I travel a lot too. Fl, Chicago, Tn, PA, NC, SC, KY, GA. Would love to just have dinner and a beer with other ATV'ers. Diner alone while on the road sucks.

How about beginning of August!! We will be there-who wants to join? That would be awesome to get a big group of people together and everyone could ride all day on their own schedule and own pace and then meet up for dinner and some b.s.ing!
