How do I keep my grips on?

I didn't mean to change the subject here but I am wondering if anybody else has the same problem.
I have my handlebars adjusted back to where I comfortably need them. It's just, I think, the diameter of the bars is too small like they are made for kids. Maybe I'm just gripping them too hard but I don't want them to be any looser. My friend has a bike and he has the same problem, the whole time between heats we are trying to get our hands loose again and it is quit painfull. If I was older I would think it was arthritus, maybe I should just get some Ben***...lol.
