Problem starting 2009 rubicon
Hi,
I have a 2009 Rubicon with only 120 miles on it. The first time it turn the key it will start up and then stall, which is normal when it is cold. But when I go to start it again it acts like the battery is dead. (it will barely crank) I screw with it for 10 minutes and walk away. I come back in 15 minutes and it starts right up and runs fine and will start up everytime until I leave it sit for a few weeks. Do I have a week solenoid or is it electronic??? Thanks.

I also think it is a battery and I think here's what is happening. The battery is strong enough to crank it once, but this draws all the power out of it. It would be fine if it didn't stall. But it stalls and so the engine hasn't had a chance to charge the battery back up to what it was before cranking. Then it doesn't have enough in it to crank it the second time. But then it cranks after 10 minutes. Why? Because when a battery like that sits for a little bit, it gains its strength back. So, then it starts and somehow you keep it from stalling and it charges it back up. So it starts all day. But a weak battery will not hold a charge for a long period of time. So the next time you try it, the same thing happens.
I agree to put a volt meter accross the battery while it's running. Not sure what the reading should be on a rubicon but I'm guessing 14.5 volts. If you have that, the battery is bad. If you don't have that, or if it's less than 12 v, there's something wrong with the charging system in the quad.
