Ok, I looked at my Honda Service Manual last night and the axle nut torque is 101 ft. lb. It only stated the value for the one with the cotter pin through it.

Other than buying the honda wrenches/spanners, any good ideas how to tighten the locknut and hold the narrower inner nut to prevent from moving?

Adjustable wrenches are too wide as near as I can tell. There might be one out there but they are pricey too. I bought a Menards 15" but grinding down the jaws is proving a lot of work.

41mm is the size.

1 5/8" is a tad larger.

Here is what I did - I used a large crecent with a fish scale. Torqued a few bolt on the bench and compared with a torque wrench.

Used the cresent/fish scale to "torque" the inner nut.

Then used some channel lock pliers to hold the inside nut while I tightened the outside about as tight as I could. Used Permatex Blue thread locker on the outside nut.

Thanks
