Default Rear Axel Nut Torque

2001 250ex shaft drive - what is the torque value of the 2 large (40mm wrech size?)nuts which must be removed to access the drum brakes?

My Kawaski 400 shop manual says 100ftlb for the toque on those but it is a slightly diff design.
I've read other comments which indicate finger tight. Big diff so anyone know for sure?

Thanks

The brake was sticking and the internals were in need of a little wire brushing and some light grease in key spots.

Info isn't in owner's manual. You must mean the shop manual.

I do not have a shop manual and really don't want to buy one because I may be selling this machine.

I have a Honda Shop manual and will check when I get home after work tonight. It is for a Recon but I'm sure it's the same since they are pretty much the same bike as the EX.

I'm sure they are the same too. My brother-in-law has a Recon. Thanks.

Dam. I forgot to check. Dam. I'll remember tonight. Sorry. There's 3 things that happen to a man when he gets old.

1. Your mind goes
2. I forget the other 2.

The 3 things are funny.

The the first nut is 29 ft lb
The second nut is 94 ft lb, with thread locker (color unknown)

that should match the recon but we'll see.

Thanks.
