If you want bottom-end, get a bottom-end pipe (FMF Fatty would do well along with several others, but the FMF is inexpensive), got to a 12 tooth counter shaft sprocket, got to a 42 tooth rear sprocket, smaller diameter tires (like some 18-11-8), good air-filter, rejet for the filter and pipe. With this set-up you ought to just rip through the gears.

Compared to all the other two strokes I have owned (at least 15 MX bikes) my 250R has great low end and a pretty linear powerband in stock condition. If you have never ridden one you ought to before you think about changing it - I think you would be surprised at how torquey they feel. I ride in the woods all the time and wouldn't change a thing (mine is 99% stock).

Paul Turner type 6 pipe and fatboy silencer is a good bottom end set-up and try a pyramid reed valve. I also run a 12 tooth countershaft sprocket and a stock rear sprocket. I'd stay away from 18" rear tires cause you'll hang up alot on rocks. I run 20-11-9 holeshot XC's and prm skidplates
