Default Looking for new atv

Im a fourteen year old boy and am getting an atv. I am new to the sport. I was looking at a Honda trx250x or a Yamaha raptor 250. I am looking for other suggestions and advice also. I could really use some help.

The Raptor is awesome. Small but strong and easy to throw around. But if you have absolutely no experience on a quad, motorcycle, or snowmobile, it might be too much for you. Starting with a more tame machine might be better. Even though you probably won't be with it long if you ride alot. Then move to a Raptor or 250X or 300EX or 400EX. Just my opinion though.

If you want to learn to ride a clutch-equipped bike, the Raptor 250 and the 300EX are good choices for a beginner.
BUDED makes a good point, which is that you'll outgrow the power of the 250 or 300 fairly quickly.
My advice would be to find a good used 300EX and learn to ride it, (there are a TON of them out there, just take a look) and then move up to a 400/450 in a year or two. The Raptor 250 is supposed to be an awesome ride, but you'll be spending lots of money for the new tech, and will still outgrow it pretty quickly.

again- I agree with trl & bud- you'll outgrow the 250 in no time. The 300ex is a great starter bike with decent power and a friendly clutch. Parts are cheap and can be found everywhere.

then, after you master the 300ex- you can jump onto a new can-am renegade 800X and have soem real fun (jk )
