i have a honda recon 250 and it hasnt been running forever because i acccidently forgot to put oil in it and one day i was driving it and it just came to a stop and i had to push it all the way home and my dad checked on it and it didnt have oil in it and i know i wass stupid cux i was only like 12 or sommething but what do you think is wrong with it and how much will it cost to fix it ? i know the engine mite be blown but idk , cant you repl;ace like o rings or something and that WILL fix the problem i need some help so give me some suggestions what to do . thank you

 

put new o rings in, use sealent to seal cracks and, PUT NEW OIL IN IT!!!

 

More than likely a complete rebuild is in order.

Will the engine turn over? Can you turn it over with the pull start? If it will turn over, you could possibly get it to run but it won't run very well.

Since everything in the engine and transmission share the same oil, there could also be damage to the transmission gears as well as a load of other problems.

 

If it quit while you were using it, then it most likely will need a complete rebuild. since the damage is from lack of lubrication, the rebuild will be pretty detailed. From your comments, I would recommend you get an experienced mechanic to help you. You might check out the cost difference of a rebuilt engine instead of trying to do it yourself.

 

i just recently hooked it up to jumper cables and tried to start it and yes it wanted to start but it wouldnt and to rebulid the motor how much money are we talking ?
