1987 Honda trx350d Foreman wiring issues
#1
Hello folks.
I just acquired an 87 350 Foreman, it ran fine for a few days, but now it won't start. Been going over the wiring, and it looks like it's been "gotten into" before. I was hoping someone might have a wiring diagram, and/or perhaps an entire service manual?
If so, that would be much appreciated. My email is smithenhiven@hotmail.com
Thanks in advance.
Jason.

Thanks to the person who had emailed me the wiring diagram and service manual.
I'm completely stumped as to the problem(s) with this quad. A buddy of mine who's experienced with working on wiring has found the problem to be in that the grounds are actually showing positive voltage. The positive wires all have a constant 12+ volts, but the grounds are all showing about 10.5 volts (we can actually make the whole system work temporarily when we hard ground like a tail-light to the battery, just a short test as the wire gets hot as there's positive power still in the wire).
The obvious thought is that something is hooked up wrong in the harness, but we went over it at least a half dozen times in accordance with the wiring diagram, and everything matches. Next thought is, there must be something wrong with one of the control boxes (CDI, etc...).
Before I spend money on stuff like that, I thought I would check here first to see if anyone ever had a similar problem, and might be able to offer advice on what part could fail to cause this problem.
Thanks for reading and for any suggesting that could be offered.

Hey guys
I'm the person who sent the manuals to him.
My repair skills are minimal - if I need something fixed
I just drag the machine and a 30 pack over to one of
my friends and pick it up the next day !!
To clarify - pick up machine , not the 30 pack, that's gone
Can anyone help this guy ?
thanks

I am not a mechanic but I work with electronics for a living. If you are reading a positive voltage on your negative lines you don't have a connection back to ground on them. I would look at the connections at the voltage sources, the battery and the alternator/generator?. If you take a circuit, and open the ground leg, all the circuit that is connected will assume the supply voltage. It sounds like you have some current flow but not very much.
