1985 TRX 250 problems

Default 1985 TRX 250 problems

Hey all new here and have a problem with this atv i just got..
Before it quit running i had checked everything on it and everything was fine it was charging and getting good spark.. i changed the oil to 10w 40 synthetic and it ran fine for a hour or so and now after i start it it will run for maybe 2 mins then dies... i checked to see if it was getting spark and no spark but after i wait for like 15 mins i can get a couple sparks and that is it....ive checked the coil and everything and it is fine...do you all think it could be because the oil

It can't have anything to do with the oil. Have you put a new plug in it?

yea i put a ngk back in it and made sure the gap was right....i can pull the plug out and lay it against engine and it will spark for just a sec while cracking then it just quits then after a couple mins same thing and quits again

Check the cdi box that will do that
