250x smoking profusely
#1
Hi, I'm new here. My brother's 1992 trx250x always smoked a little bit on startup but we never worried about it it never really used much oil between changes. Last winter he put new valve seals in it and it smoked even less but still a little bit. Not enough to worry much. Last weekend we went riding and it ran great but by the end of the day it smoked terribley and used alot of oil. I dont know what is wrong with it i dont think rings go out as that fast. Anybody have any ideas?

Welcome to the forums.
If it's not the rings, could be a blown gasket. But it's definitely getting oil into the top end for somewhere. Unfortunately, you're not going to know for sure where it's coming from without taking it apart.

ok thanks man. What do you think caused this just out of curiousity????? I know for a fact that my brother didnt replace the copper washers when he got into it to replace the valve guides. Did that have anything to do with it?
