i've been useing gn4 and i add 1 oz. of this product called energy release.i've been useing this product in my quads since 92 and it makes a huge difference in wear on my machines, especially
in cam and piston wear...i'll swear by this stuff.it's designed not to affect clutch mechanisms too.i will continue to use it as long as they make it......www.energyrelease.com

I run golden spectro and have been for years in the testing it out performed the gn4 never had a motor failure yet.I do recommend it be changed often these motors love to chew up rockers and the cams that metal go somewhere. But i agree gn4 is not bad oil and will work fine but honda dont make oil they make motorcycles somebody makes it for them.I dont recommend fully synthetic i have noticed clutches chattering using full synthetic a blend would be better.

I would not use an automotive oil in an atv or motorcycle. They do not have thermal and viscosity resistant addatives in them like the honda oil and other oils made for small air cooled four strokes. I just bought oil and filter for my first breakin service for my new 400ex and I got the honda oil. It is not that expensive. I bought a gallon jug for around $13. I would rather pay a few extra bucks at service time and not have to wory abought internal part failier due to me beeing to cheep to use correct lubricants. That is probobly why it cost me $35 to change oil in my truck every 3000 miles. Mobil 1 is $5/quart.

I've used Valvoline 10W40 for over 15 years. I've never had an engine failure. I do use the Valvoline Synthetic Blend now. If you maintain your ride at the scheduled times, you probably won't have problems regardless what you use, but I wouldn't buy NAPA brand oil.
