i have a 2009 rubicon, 2010 rancher, and a 2005 polaris ATP (the predecessor to the sportsman X2). the polaris has more power and a softer seat. the honda wins in everything else. i ride the ATP for an hour, then switch to my rubi, and the difference is night and day. granted, the rubi is 4 years newer and has power steering, but the overall craftsmanship and ergonomics are superior on the honda in my opinion. i do use both the rubi and polaris for work, and both pull their weight in that department.

ride them and do your research. good luck!
The ATP is a work beast. It's not a great comparison to the regular Sportsman. It has a 400 lb. rated rear with a solid axle and two shock/springs. Was kind of a mistake for us to buy one when my son had one. Brutal ride. The IRS equipped Sportsman is one of the nicest rides out there. I have a bad disk and even with a 400 lb. rated rear the X2 isn't bad on my back unless I do something really heinous like dropping off a 2 foot drop without enough speed to get a smooth landing.

congrats on your new Honda.

Now all you need is a nice set of wheels and tires.

I like these from STI.

The Rubicon does have slightly more hps than a foreman, I think something like 7 more

you're asking people in a honda forum if you should buy a honda or a polaris???

I'd go with the polaris personally- I'd rather have an IRS, a cvt clutch and a locking front diff...
