Default Honda 300 fourtrax final drive

I am thinking about attacking the final drive in my Honda 300 fourtrax. I was wondering if this is smart. I have some but limited expierence but fairly handy. Also are there any specialty tools that I should get before attempting this. I believe the pinion gear and the ring gear are bad. I know the seals are bad and I can only assume since there was water in the final drive oil that the bearings are soon to follow. Oh yeah I have metal pieces in the oil as well. Thanks for the help in advance.

Here's what I did....disassembled my rear drive to where it was just the unit itself...axle removed...and took it to the local Honda dealer, where they pressed out/in the old and new pieces/bearings. By doing this, I minimized the repair shop's time (by not having them disassemble/assemble the bike) and it cost me $100 to get it done right (I don't have a press and some of the special tools needed to do the fix) Then I put it back together and it hasn't given me a bit of trouble in 8 years
