mud tires to fit Rancher....
#1
what are some good mud tires to fit the Rancher? i need some with at least 1in. trend. i need some to fit my rancher 2X4. Should i get 25in or 26 in? if i get 26in just for the rear, will i need too move up a size in the front too? i dont wanna have to get wheel spacers or a lift kit or any thing. here are the tire sizes stock:
front: 24in
rear: 25in
so will it be ok to run it like this:?
front: 24in
rear: 26in
thanks,
Tommy

Go with the Goodyear mudrunners, they have a very aggresive tread and they "clear" extremly well. They also have a centerline pad that provides a much smoother ride on hardpack than most all other deep lug tire. As for the size....the 26" will give more clearance but will suck up more of your power than the 25". For some reason the 25" were substaintally lighter than the 26". I got the 26" on mine because I got an unbelievable deal. Since I've had them I can't get the smile off my face. Once you strap on a se of mud tires on to your 4x2 you will be able to go places that you had no chance at before. Especially if you know a couple of the deep mud riding tricks.

I've just changed my rear trail tires to 25x10x12 MudRunners, leaving the 24's on the front to wear further.
I've riden them on a muddy track after a few good days of rain and I'm really happy with the additional traction these tires provide. Going through slop had never been easier.
You can add the 25's with no kit or spacers, a nice fit. My Rancher had been delivered new with 25's on the rear and 24's on the front; from day one this has been a good combination through lots of varied terrain.
Next weekend, I'm going back to ride Tellico again and see how the MudRunner performs for a trail tire.

I own a 4X2 Rancher like yours and just installed some Titan 589's on the rear. They are an inch wider than the stock tires but they don't rub anywhere. You can look at these tires on the Rocky Mountain ATV site. They have 1" tall lugs and really grab the soft stuff, yet give a good ride on hardpack. Although they are a bit heavier, the power loss is minimal in the 25'' size.
