My starter worked fine then quite. I only get a clicking sound coming from the rubber enclosed unit in front of the battery. Battery is new and checks out at 12.6 volts. For a while I was able to get the starter to work by holding the starter button and tapping on the starter, but after a while the starter would only make a growling sound and did not engage. I think the starter needs to be replaced. Any other ideas.

 

I think an new set of brushes in starter willbe fine!
