Just bought 400EX:brakes not working
#1
I just bought a used 2007 400EX. The seller told me that the brakes didn't work, but it just needed to have the brakes bled. I tried to bleed them and it didn't work. I don't think there is any brake fluid in the lines because when I took them off nothing came out, but when I bleed them it doesn't run fluid through the line. When I pump the brake it doesn't seem to run fluid into the master cylinder. I don't really want to replace parts that I don't have to replace, but I don't know how to test the parts to tell which one's bad.
Any help here would be appreciated.

Unhook the line from the master cylinder. Make sure the cylinder is full of fluid. Pull the lever and if nothing comes out, you need to rebuild the cylinder. It's pretty cheap and easy to do. If fluid squirts out, the cylinder is good and it could be a clogged line. Reattach the line to the cylinder and take the line itself off at the brake. Pull the lever. If nothing comes out, it's a clogged line. If fluid comes out, it's a bad brake caliper. They can also be rebuilt. Be very careful in this whole process to protect any plastic or paint from brake fluid.

I took apart the cylinder tonight and all the seals look like they're in good condition. I'm going to hook it all back up tomorrow, but when I pumped the brake tonight with the lid on the reservoir there was still no fluid that came out. Any tips on what to try tomorrow?
Thanks for all the help.
