2000 Recon Carb Issues
#1
Hello-
I am new to the group, and just picked up a 2000 Recon that I will give to my 11 yr old for his birthday next month. The thing looks to be in good shape, but the it wouldn't idle and sputtered at WOT.
I removed the carb and found junk in the bowl. I sprayed carb cleaner thru the low and main jet and both seemed clear. I put the carb back on and fired it up, now it will idle great and not stall or sputter at WOT, but I have to leave the choke on.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance...

sounds like you are still not getting enough fuel, choke provides the fuel you are not getting through the carb. try some carb cleaner in the gas tank. it might break free thge gunk that is causing the problem. worth the try before pulling the carb for a complete cleaning job.
