I've used a pair of bifold aluminum ramps for the last 4 years, and I can't believe I didn't use em long before.I lost half my right kneecap years before in a ramp loading accident gone wrong.(used poor judgement and it cost me big time.
Whatever your ramp cost, your safety is worth it, please don't do like I once did, and choose saving a few dollars over your safety.

I figured to go the cheap way in the beginning so I used 2x12's with purchased ramp ends on them. I worked fine in dry conditions but get a little moisture on the tires and your screwed. I decided to go with tri-fold aluminum ramps. Best thing I have ever done. I use it to load into a F-250 4x4. I haven't had a problem. I do also encourage you to take the time and attach the safety chains. I use the ramps now even to load the atvs onto the trailer. I can easily jump the atvs on there but I use the ramps 99% of the time. They really are not that expensive and make life so simple.

Check out these people they make a dozen ramps. I use a bifold style the taller the tailgate the longer the ramp. http://www.ramp-master.com/

I also have a pair of the aluminums from Ohio Steel. I bought mine at Walmart for about $100.00. The only problem that I've had with mine was when I was parked on a crowned road and trying to load up after plowing snow. I slipped sideways and slid back down on the belly of the machine twice. I figured I was pushing my luck and didn't try it a third time. Next time I buy ramps it will be the tri-fold design.

I use Bi-Folds from the dealer for 119.00 and even went as far as to buy two 6 foot ratcheting straps so I didn't have to depend on those cheap wires. I hook them under my bumper and ratchet them snug so there is no slipping of the ramp. I am very happy now because of the straps. My bi-folds slide between my tires...........although someone mentioned they wouldn't.
