Default Rejetting trx300

I have a 95 trx300. Thinking about putting on a tractor muffler. All stock except a moose foam filter. About how much should I rejet? Couldnt find any specifics while searching

a tractor muffler?

Why?

Regardless of the reason why, rejetting is not necessarily going to be required, but it all depends on the flow quality of the tractor muffler.

If the tractor muffler restricts exhaust flow more than the stock muffler, then you will actually need a leaner jet, and your performance will probably suffer.

If the tractor muffler increases exhaust flow more than the stock muffler, then you will need a richer jet, but the correct jet size is going to be a trial and error process at best.

There is probably a reason why internet searching has not provided an answer, as this is the first time I've ever heard of someone trying it.

Good luck and Merry Christmas

Never heard of it? Its actually very popular I just havent found any specific jetting #s. The 2 most common muffs used are stanley fo4 and fo14. Most say they are very comparable to the fmf utility mufflers at a fraction of the cost. They will increase the flow but im not sure how many sizes to go up as a starting point

This might be of some help...

KLR Tractor Muffler Mod - ADVrider

and

gotta wonder how it sounds...

Anyway, hope it works out for you. Please take pics as you go along so we can see your progress....it would be cool if it works, as I hate paying ridiculous prices for mufflers too

here are the 2 common ones,
this one is supposed to be pretty much straight through and have a deeper, louder tone

this one has a baffle and is supposed to be a little bit on the raspy side but not as loud

got my muffler put on, ended up going with a IH-1 it is straight through with perforated baffle. i chose this one because the inside is a little bit smaller that the other mufflers and i didnt wanna risk losing lowend. it pops pretty good on decel so i am gonna try a 130 main. it really woke it up, i can actually get the front wheels off the ground now. i have never been able to get them up at all. it is a little bit loud but not too bad for me, sounds almost exactly like this one:

ive never had a stock 300ex, but you could pull a easy wheelie in 2nd with my ole 300ex with HMF slip on

now my 400ex, i can pulll a wheelie in 1st. Well , i can again once its rebuilt.
