Need help with my 03 honda rancher 350
#1
Had a brake job done(replaced the brake pads) on it and now the front tries will not move they are locked up and the hand break is very tight(can't squeeze it at all)
.......Anyone know what might have happened???????

does yours still have the drum brakes up front? if so, it sounds like one of the brake cam plates is stuck not allowing the shoes to come back together, needs to be taken apart and cleaned good and greased with some silicone grease. I got tired of having problems like this with my 450, so I bit the bullet and put a disc brake conversion on the front....now if someone made one for the rear!

You will see a red plug on the fronts rims, you take it out and use a flat screw driver to adjust the brake shoe clearance to the drum.
Turn the little wheel that looks like a cowboy boot spur, I can remember if you turn it upwards or downwards though for loosening.

Yep. What TLC said. But I know which way to turn them. Once you get the wheel rotated so you can see the spur wheel through the hole, if you put the screwdriver on the top of the spur and rotate it downward, this will loosten the shoes. Putting the screwdriver on the underside of the spur and rotating it upwards will tighten the shoes. Keep pulling the lever and spinning the wheel as you adjust them. This will keep the shoes centered in the drum. Adjust them so that they are just to the point of not dragging, no looser. This will give you the most power and braking when you pull the lever.
What I am baffled about is why they are so tight? Did the guy that did your brakes not know what he was doing? Or maybe something broke in there? But both of them are tight??? This is puzzling to me.
