I was wondering what the top speed on the 250EX is. And if it isnt very impressive, then is there or will there be any engine mods for it to make it move pretty good?

 

52mph, and I think the power is good but it depends what quad your moving up from, I had a yamaha breeze and moved to the 250EX.

52, that is what dirt wheels said. Also my friend said he read some ATV magazine and it said about 16 horsepower. In the motorcycle stuff catalog there is a yoshimura pipe for the 250EX that adds about 7 or 8 more horsepower.

 

more power only makes you reach the top speed faster. it does not improve top speed. you would have to change the gearing in the axle or in the tranny. so far i have not heard of any gear sets for the 250ex. you could make the engine put out 50HP but once you hit that darn rev limiter you don't go any faster. or you could put bigger tires on it. that would slow the acceleration though.

The 250 is kind of weak on the top end, but then again I weigh 200+ lbs. It might go 52 mph., but it doesn't do it with any authority. I put a FMF MegaMax II on a Recon and it really perked it up. I called FMF, and they said they might have a pipe for the 250 in the near future.
