Check this Dilemma Out
#1
I had to move my atv out of the garage and into the backyard today. So, I decided to take the key out just in case someone decides to help themselves while I am at work. At least it would slow them down.
I was very busy, rushing around before the rain came but reminded myself, don't lose the key. Of course, I lost it anyway. Spent two hours looking for it and it is gone. To make things worse, I don't have a spare, the owners manual is long gone and the serial number is not legible. I am unbelievably frustrated and disgusted with myself for being so stupid. However, I am now wondering how I am going to get it running again (either by getting another key or by-passing the ignition).
Does anyone have any ideas, I could use a few.

First check your pockets again, i've guilty of always losin" my keys only to discover i put them somewhere i "knew " they'd be, only to find them later.
As a last resort you could obtain a replacement ignition switch from the dealer or perhaps from a junked quad, good luck , i hope you find your key.

on alot of wheelrs you can take the key ign. off and then u have to plug 2 wires together. The guy I bought my ex from did it this way because his key kept freezing in the ign.Try following your wires from you key switch and u should find it,then plug them together and it will run, rememebr to unplug them if u have a battery.

I just took my recon in for it's tune up
on the way home in the back of my truck the fox tag on the key chain must have flapped enough to yank it outt the ignition, needless to say those duplicate keys honda got us from else where that were the same exact number DID NO WORK. we tried keys from every honda dealer in a 50 mile radius we ended up using the 2nd key we got when i bought it and a key shiped in from a dealer like 500 miles away. WHAT A PAIN
