How to test angle sensor??

How to test angle sensor??
2007 Ranger ES 4 X 4 How do you test angle sensor? There has to be some way I can do it, maybe a ohm meter?
Also when I remove it will oil run out? Looks like it is so low on engine block that it would be in the oil bath.
