2000 honda 450 Es problems

Default 2000 honda 450 Es problems

I have a 450es and it won't shift the shift motor is good getting power to the shift switches no power to the shift motor and it also is not chargeing I need some ideas on were else to look

The ES system needs a heathy battery to work properly. Maybe its not charging because the battery is done. ATV batteries last only about 3 years give or take.

Once and awhile my 2001 450es would not shift and taking the fuses out from under the seat and reinstalling them fixed it some how.

I have tried it with a battery charger on it Also how can I test the voltage reg and the stator and what can I test for the shifting issue how can I reset the computer

im having the same problem and ive only had my battery for two months i also changed the angle senser and didnt do a thing i also snet a hot wire and and a nuetralwire to the shift motor and it changed the gear so im not sure where else to go

Try removing the fuses then reinstalling them.

Did that I have power getting to the fuse also

The neutral light do work but has n in the gauge and when I Manuel shift it 1st 5th and r only show up so could it be angle sensor or computer

Most of the time if your angle sensor is bad when 2nd,3rd,4th is hard to find....If you have an hot batt. And can hand shift manually in them gears...90 percent of the time the angle sensor is the problem IMO...I do about 150 to 200 an year with this problem.....Good Luck..PS if you hear the shift motor click when you remove the angle sensor then I would remove shift motor and gears an clean the gears out and re-lube.
