Default This sucks...

Hey everyone new member here. The guy that owned my quad before me (400ex red) decided it was a good idea to sand down the scratches and repaint the quad red again. Now from trail riding the paint is getting scratched off and the red is 2 different reds -_-. So the question is should i try to paint it again or attempt sanding it off and if so what is the best way of doing it?...thanks.

Well, you can do a few things. One, they sell a special plastic paint you can try, but I have never had much luck with it. Two, buy new plastics, they are not that expensive. Check aftermarket ones, not Honda. Three, if it runs good, just ride it.

Welcome to the forums.

Easiest thing to do is just keep it covered in dirt and mud.

Check ebay for someone parting out a quad or check your local Craigslist for the same. Heck, you might be able to find a good parts quad too.

My maier plastics are holding up pretty good, plus you have the option of a (sorta) unique color.

Run the plastics as is or replace them. Dont bother to repaint. Paint for plastics has come a long way. But for a atv its not the way to go, lawn furniture yes. Atv fenders no.

You could sand it with fine sandpaper, then use a heat gun to it. That should make it look better. Or you could just buy more.
