Default 1999 TRX250 Recon Honda Pull Starts but Will not push start

I have a 1999 Honda 250 Recon that will start with the pull start, but does not start with the push start.

Brand new battery with lots of power. The starter does work because I can jump the solenoid and it starts the engine.

When I hit the start button I hear nothing. After the bike is running from me pull starting it, I can hit the start button and the starter turns over.

Do you guys have any where for me to start looking? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does thing model have a fuse box or any fuses at all to look at?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I would check the start switch on the handle bar for a broken wire or corroded terminals inside. I had a similar problem with my big bear. Switch didn't work at all till I cleaned the battery up and checked and cleaned the starter switch. Now it starts like a champ.
Don't forget to check if it has a brake safety switch. Some bikes have to have the brake depressed to activate the starter. Good luck.

Might be the gear position sensor. Bike doesn't know it's in neutral.
